Hours of Operation

The Learning Commons operates on a flexible, open schedule Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Students, teachers and staff are welcome to utilize the many services that are available.

Check-outs

  • The Library Media Technology Specialist or Media Clerk will assist with all check-outs/check-ins at the circulation desk. Please do not remove any materials without checking out first. ​ ​

  • Only two books may be checked out at one time for a period of two weeks. If necessary, items may be renewed on or before the due date for an additional two weeks.​​ There will be a 72 hour quarantine for all books. 

  • Please return books to the book drop, outside the media center doors, or to the media center staff as soon as you are finished so that others may use them.​ Books may be renewed for an additional two week period, if necessary.

  • Students may use reference materials in the Learning Commons only; reference books may not be checked out.​

  • DO NOT CHECK OUT BOOKS FOR OTHER STUDENTS. Please understand that if you do, you will​ be held responsible for items that are misplaced/damaged. 

Note: If you owe books or a fine from your previous school, you will not have the opportunity to borrow items from Mercer until obligations have been met.

Student ID's

Identification cards are made to help ensure a safer school for everyone. All students are expected to wear their ID when on campus or at a school sponsored event. If a student loses or defaces the badge, he/she must purchase a new one.

COST: Badge replacement- $4.00 Lanyard- $1.00 ID case- .50 Total Package- $5.00

Overdue Materials

  • ​Students with an overdue book may not check out additional materials or receive their report card until the overdue book is returned or the fines have been paid.

  • All students are responsible for any books checked out to them and must pay any late, damaged, or lost fines.

  • Notices will be sent to students in homeroom for books that are overdue.

  • Items that are overdue by three months are considered lost and require immediate payment for replacement.

  • Minor repairs will be performed as needed; however, students who have damaged items beyond repair will be expected to pay the replacement costs of the item.
